Dhurandhar Trailer breakdown

The "Real" Spy Story We Wasn't Ready For

The trailer for Dhurandhar has arrived, and it is nothing like the polished spy films we are used to. Moving away from the "gentleman spy" image, this film dives straight into the violence and grime of a mission deep inside Karachi.

Dhurandhar Trailer breakdown

With a release date set for December 5, 2025, and a massive cast led by Ranveer Singh, this film is shaping up to be the year's biggest cinematic event. Here is everything you need to know about the trailer that has the internet buzzing.

1. Not Just another Spy Movie: The Lyari Connection

Unlike the high-flying adventures we are used to, Dhurandhar takes us into the narrow, dangerous lanes of Lyari, Karachi. The film is marketed as being based on "incredible true events," focusing on the "Unknown Men". The mysterious operatives credited with eliminating hostile targets on foreign soil.

The story seems to blend the real-life gang wars of Karachi with high-stakes espionage. It suggests that Indian intelligence assets infiltrated these local conflicts to dismantle terror networks from the inside.

2. The Cast: Transformations That Will Shock You

Aditya Dhar has assembled an "Avengers-level" cast, but you might barely recognize them.

Featuring a bearded, long-haired look with glasses, Ranveer Singh plays a spy on the brink in his role as "The Wrath of God." His character turns pain into power, epitomized by the line "Main Ghayal Hoon Isiliye Ghatak Hoon," proving that his wounds only make him more deadly.

Akshaye Khanna as "The Apex Predator": In a chilling turn, Khanna plays a character based on the real-life gangster Rehman Dakait. The trailer shows him in a brutal light, smashing a man’s head with a stone, a far cry from his usual suave roles.

Sanjay Dutt as "The Jinn": Dutt steps into the shoes of the legendary Karachi cop Chaudhry Aslam Khan, known for his fearless encounters and chain-smoking persona.

Taking on the mantle of "The Angel of Death," Arjun Rampal plays a ruthless ISI Major. He represents the face of the institutional enemy, driven by a singular mission to destabilize the nation through a strategy of weakening and "a thousand cuts".

R. Madhavan as "The Charioteer of Karma": Madhavan plays Ajay Sanyal, the brilliant strategist behind the operation. Based on National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, his character is the calm anchor in the chaos. In a scene that breaks the fourth wall, he delivers the film's philosophy with the chilling line: "Muh todne ke liye mutthi bandh karna zaruri hai" (To break a mouth, clenching a fist is necessary).

3. The Controversy: Is It Too Violent?

The trailer hasn't been without its critics. The level of gore, specifically scenes involving torture and skinning has sparked a debate online. Popular YouTuber Dhruv Rathee criticized the trailer for its extreme depiction of violence, comparing it to "ISIS beheadings" and accusing the filmmakers of glorifying sadism.

However, fans of the genre are comparing the visceral intensity to films like Animal, arguing that the "A" rating proves the film isn't holding back on the harsh realities of spy craft.

 4. A Two-Part Epic

Get comfortable, because Dhurandhar is going to be a long ride. The filmmakers realized the story was too dense for one movie, so they have split it into two parts:

Part 1 hits theatres on December 5, 2025.

Part 2: Scheduled for summer 2026.

With a runtime for Part 1 clocking in at over 3 hours, this film promises to prioritize deep world-building over fast-paced gimmicks.

Final Verdict

Dhurandhar looks set to redefine Indian action cinema. It’s gritty, controversial, and grounded in a geopolitical reality that few films dare to touch. Whether you are there for the politics, the action, or just to see Ranveer Singh in his most dangerous avatar yet, this is one release you cannot ignore.

Mark your calendars for December 5th—the "Unknown Men" are coming.

Deul Band 2 review

Blockbuster marathi Deul band's sequel has released in theatres on 21 may. Heres my opinion for the movie First part was released in 2015 after 2 weeks of Bahubali release. But it was not affected by the clash, because of its content. After I watched the part 2 trailer, thought this wont be good like the first one. But I was wrong. This movie is not any less than the first part. Deul band 2 is based on farmer's suicide in Maharashtra and their problems. It does not deal with it politically but practically. In a spiritual way.  Faith as a Strength, Not an Escape The story follows a struggling farmer who is pushed to his absolute limit, and his family, whose deep devotion brings Swami Samarth back into the picture. What I really loved about the writing is how Swami Samarth’s character is handled. He doesn’t just wave a magic wand to clear bank debts or make it rain instantly. The movie shows that spirituality isn't a shortcut to skip hard work; it’s the inner strength you nee...

Dhurandhar: Jaskirat Singh Rangi story

If you just walked out of the theater after watching Ranveer Singh transform into the lethal Hamza Ali Mazari, you likely have one burning question: Is Jaskirat Singh Rangi a real person? The movie Dhurandhar blurs the lines between history and folklore so effectively that it’s hard to tell where the files end and the script begins. Here is the definitive breakdown of what is true and what a cinematic masterstroke is. The Verdict: Is Jaskirat Real? No. Jaskirat Singh Rangi is a fictional character but represents real intelligence assets. While the internet is buzzing with theories about him being based on the late Major Mohit Sharma (who famously infiltrated terrorist groups under the alias Iftikhar Bhatt), the filmmakers and courts have clarified that the character is fictional.    However, there is a brilliant "Easter Egg" that proves his fictional nature lies within a Cinematic Universe: In Aditya Dhar’s previous blockbuster, Uri: The Surgical Strike, the characte...

Kinara – A Film worth Watching

Kinara was a film created by a brilliant director, featuring talented actors and a melodious music composer — truly a film that must be seen. All the songs in it were pleasant to hear and rich in meaning, but after Lata Didi’s (Lata Mangeshkar’s) passing, the song most often played was “Naam Gum Jayega,” an intense expression of emotion. Released in 1977, Kinara was directed by Gulzar, starring Hema Malini, Dharmendra, and Jeetendra, with music composed by R. D. Burman. The characters were — Hema Malini as Vasundhara, Dharmendra as Achyut, and Jeetendra as Indrajit. Vasundhara is a classical dancer. She is in love with the poet Achyut, but after his accidental death, she becomes deeply traumatized and remains trapped in his memories, keeping an emotional distance from Indrajit. Indrajit, on the other hand, is sensitive and understanding — but the climax reveals that he himself was responsible for the accident. The song “Naam Gum Jayega” appears at a moment when Vasundhara is...
